Morning Call - December 27, 2024
Fog south
Wet western Scotland

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 27th December 2024
Duty forecaster: Dan Graves

High pressure persists forming fog over England and Wales. A slight acceleration of winds with rain into Scotland overnight.

Good morning,

High pressure won't yet give up, keeping things settled. Lots of fog built over England yesterday, and we'll see much of the same today. Clouds will be quite persistent through the day, brighter patches possible east where out of fog. Periods of rain continue over northwest Ireland and western Scotland with a gentle breeze building.

Where fog persists today, temperatures will stay steady near 8C. Elsewhere, temperatures will rise to 10C, 11C possible in Ireland.

A cool breeze approaches northern Scotland overnight. A front pushes another wave of rain through Scotland, heaviest on the west coast. Some of this breeze will reach north England, but the south may fog up again.
