Morning Call - January 10, 2021
Fog south
Rain north

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 10th January 2021
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Low pressure to the north brings outbreaks of wintry precipitation to the northern half of Scotland. Winds pick up through the day across all areas as high pressure is squeezed to the south. This allows early mist and fog patches to clear and some spells of sunshine to develop for south-central England.

Good Morning,

It's a mostly cloudy start to the day with mist and fog patches for some of you, especially in the south where they may take a while to clear. Outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow affect northwestern parts of Scotland as well as the Northern Isles. Some of these spread into eastern areas as the morning progresses.

Mist and fog should lift in the south to give some sunny spells for south-central England this afternoon. Elsewhere it stays rather cloudy and winds pick up from the north. Outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow persist over the northern half of Scotland with a few isolated showers affecting areas further south.

Little change into Sunday evening with cloud thickening across the country and winds continuing to pick up.

Have a good day!

Claire
