Morning Call - May 17, 2020
Dull, damp northwest
Dry, brighter southeast

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 17th May 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A dull and wet day for northwestern areas. Drier and brighter further south and east.

Good Morning,

Low pressure to the northwest brings outbreaks of rain across western and northern parts of Ireland and Scotland. This heaviest and most persistent over northwest Scotland. Some rain may reach as far south as northwestern parts of England and Wales at times through the morning. Generally drier and brighter further south and east with the best of the morning sun over southern counties of England.

Northwestern parts of Ireland and Scotland tend to stay rather dull and wet into Sunday afternoon. Staying mostly dry elsewhere with the best of the sun through the afternoon for eastern parts of England and Scotland. Chilly to the northwest with highs in the low single digits here, warmer for central and southern areas.

Rain tends to ease from Ireland through the evening though some showers persist for western areas. A heavier band of rain spreads across Scotland and into the far north of England. Staying mostly dry for eastern Ireland, Wales and much of England but rather cloudy for all.

Have a good day!

Claire
