Fair England and Wales, but rain and wind for much of Scotland and Ireland
Good morning,
It's a fine start to the day over much of England, Wales and Scotland. Good spells of sunshine will be lasting through this morning and, after a cool start it will be feeling warm in that sunshine for many too. Thicker cloud is affecting western Ireland, and this will be pushing eastwards as the morning progresses, reaching western Scotland by mid to late morning. The winds increasing here too.
This afternoon sees the weather staying dry in most of England and Wales, although cloud is going to increase in the north and west. The sunshine remains best in the east and south. For Scotland and Ireland thicker cloud and patchy outbreaks of rain continue, these more persistent in western Scotland. There could be some drizzle in northwest England too.
Tonight brings some drizzle into northwest England, Wales and the far southwest with low cloud and fog on coasts and hills. Fresher weather with scattered showers and more broken cloud in Scotland and the west and north of Ireland.
