Locally very warm southeast
High pressure extends across central and southern parts of the British Isles, bringing a dry and bright day with prolonged sunshine, especially across England and Wales. Southeastern Ireland will also enjoy the best of the sunshine, while cloud increases across the north and west with some light rain affecting the Hebrides and western Highlands. Highs of 24 to 25C across southern England, around 22C in eastern areas, and 16 to 18C across the northwest.
Cloud and outbreaks of rain will spread across northern and western areas, with the heaviest and most persistent rain over the western Highlands. Ireland will remain mostly cloudy but largely dry away from the far northwest. England and Wales will enjoy a dry evening and night with clear spells. Overnight lows of 15 to 16C across the north and west, and around 18C in the southeast.
