A rather cloudy and dry day for most. Outbreaks of rain in northwest.
Away from the northwest Scotland, where a longer spell of rain and hill snow is expected along with strong southwesterly winds, elsewhere it will be a rather cloudy day but mostly dry. Some long sunny spells are possible are expected southern and southeastern England in the morning and early afternoon. Breezy for all, stronger winds in northwest Scotland. Temperatures in the afternoon rising above freezing across all parts at around 3C to 4C.
Outbreak of rain and hill snow for Northwest Scotland and some rain for Northern Ireland for Friday evening and overnight into Saturday. England and Wales will be dry with clear spells with some frost developing. Minimum temperatures at 3-4C in north, but -1C in south.
