A chance of some thunderstorms developing today for parts of Scotland and northern England. Elsewhere, just the slight chance of a shower, so a dry and bright day for many.
Thursday starts mostly dry and bright across the British Isles. Thick cloud to the north may bring a light shower to northern parts of Scotland while there could be some mist and fog patches forming over northern parts of England. Through the morning showers are expected to develop over eastern parts of England and intensify over Scotland giving some heavy, at times thundery, bursts.
Into the afternoon and heavy, thundery downpours are expected to impact much of Scotland with the exception of far eastern regions. These spreading into northern parts of England and perhaps into the Midlands and eastern parts of England too. A few showers are expected for Wales and the southwest but it should be a mostly dry, if not rather cloudy, afternoon for the island of Ireland. High temperatures at 18 to 25C.
Thunderstorms and heavy showers should ease into the evening though perhaps lingering a little longer for western parts of Scotland. A dry evening for most - cloudier to the west with clearer skies to the east.
Have a good day!
