Colder in Scotland today as showery rain pushes south
Colder weather drains into Scotland today, and that colder weather will be reaching all areas of the UK by the end of tonight. This cold weather is behind a band of showery rain which extends from southern Scotland, into northern England and East Anglia. Drier in the south of England and Wales as well as Ireland with sunny spells.
The showery band of rain pushes through northern England and into the Midlands and East Anglia by late morning and into this afternoon. Drier to the south of Ireland, southern Wales and southern England with some sunny spells here. A few showers in northeast Scotland. Further showers in northeast Scotland and along eastern coasts of England tonight, these wintry over the hills of Scotland. Drier and a frost forming in western Scotland, northern England, Wales, the Midlands and much of Ireland. Less frosty in the far south with showery rain still in these areas.
