Cold, lots of cloud and showers in the west

It's a cold and frosty start the day for many parts. There will be lots of sunshine around through much of England and Wales although Pat and will be filling in here through the course of the morning and into this afternoon. Frequent showers lying through Northern Ireland and across the west of Wales and into Southwest England, some wintry on the hills. Further wintry showers the northern and western Scotland and a few affecting eastern coast to. Generally dry elsewhere but feeling very cold.

This afternoon stays cold with rather a lot of cloud around and only breathe bright spells. For the shower is affecting many western parts of Wales and Southwest England as well as Northern Ireland and further showers to in northern Scotland. One or two showers breaking out across the Midlands and southern England. A few also in East Anglia.

Skies clear tonight allowing for a widespread frost across England and Wales as well as southern Ireland. However thick cloud Crossing in Northern Ireland and Scotland bring some rain for much of western and northern Scotland in the early hours.
