A cold day after a morning frost, some rain in the west

Good morning,

It's a cold morning in northern, central and eastern areas with a widespread frost here. There will be some mist and fog patches for the next few hours too. These slowly clearing to leave some bright or sunny spells.

Cloudier to the west wit drizzle in southeastern parts of Ireland, southwest Wales and the far southwest of England. More persistent rain into the west of Ireland. This afternoon sees a band of showery rain passing through Ireland, into the east by evening, by which time drier weather with broken cloud will have reached the west. Dry for most other areas, although some patchy rain into southwest Wales and southwest England. A cold day for all.
