Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 29th December 2024 Duty forecaster: Dan Graves
Fog clears with arriving breeze, heavy rains into Scotland overnight.
Good morning,
A westerly breeze picks up helping clear fog in England. A cold front draped across northern Scotland will keep things rainy there, heavy on the west coast. Snow likely falling on higher hills. Further south, a weak cold front will drop some drizzly rain on northern England and Wales. The far south will stay dry. Mostly cloudy, though bright patches will come and go.
A low pressure core will approach and pass Scotland overnight bringing persistent heavy rains. England and Wales will stay mostly dry. If the storm core passes through central Scotland, areas north of the core may see plentiful snow.
Top temperatures today will be 9 to 10C in most places. Northern Scotland will be cooler, around 7C.
Enjoy your day! -Dan
