Morning Call - December 09, 2024
Chilly northeast wind
Cloudy, a little rain

Sunshine north and west

Good morning,

Storm Darragh has weakened, but the legacy of this weather system which is now centred over Europe will keep things windy across England and Wales today, feeling unpleasantly chilly in the brisk northeasterly.

Cloudy conditions for central, east and southeastern regions, with patchy light rain or some local showers. Greater risk of more frequent showery rain toward the coasts in the far southeast. Glimpses of sun mainly toward the west of hills.

A much different day for Scotland and Ireland though, with a strong centre of high pressure in charge here, there's sunshine and light winds, but also some areas of lingering fog on low ground.

The hills have a fresh covering of snow from the weekend and higher terrain will be very pleasant over the days ahead as a temperature inversion leaves the mountains warmer than the valleys.

Today's top temperatures will be between 4 and 7C, but feeling chillier in the wind.

Have a great day.
Garry
