A mix of sun and clouds, brief showers in the east

Good morning,

Another cool day, but this time often dry, wet locally in the east.

Solid cloud cover in England and Scotland this morning. Mostly dry, only isolated drizzly showers in East Anglia and northern and eastern Scotland. A sunny start for Wales and Ireland.

Light and brief showers slightly more often in the afternoon, spreading from the Scottish Borders to East Anglia, possibly also a few drops of rain over London and in the South East.

In Wales and Ireland more clouds in the afternoon, but staying dry. Over England and Scotland clouds often breaking during the day, longer sunny spells from the noon onward. Today's top temperatures only reaching 13 to 17C, highest in central Ireland.

Showers fading overnight for most, then dry with some clear spells. Feeling cool too.
