Early rain in southeast, drier and brighter for most but snow in west Scotland
Wet in East Anglia and southeast England this morning. If you are heading out early be prepared for lots of surface water om roads and pavements, some local flooding problems too. Drier for much of England, Wales, Ireland and eastern Scotland, although showers over western Wales and the coasts of southwest England. Snow may affect the hills of western Scotland, sleet at lower levels.
The rain finally clears southeast England this afternoon. It should be brighter for most areas with sunny spells, although rather breezy in northern England and Northern Ireland. Further rain and snow in western Scotland, but the east of Scotland should be dry. Isolated showers in west Wales and southwest England as well as western Ireland. Feeling cooler for all, especially in the wind. Snow continues over the hills of western Scotland tonight. Drier for most at first but then cloud and wind increasing in the west with rain into southwest Wales, southwest England and the west and south of Ireland later.
