Breezy in the west with rain, drier to the east with some decent spells of sunshine
A band of showery rain passing through Ireland this morning, together with breezy conditions. Rain reaches western Scotland by midday, then into northwest England and western Wales by the middle of this afternoon before heading into the rest of northern England, Midlands and southern England this evening. Drier and brighter in much of England, Wales and Scotland with the best sunshine in central and southern areas. This afternoon stays fine and sunny in eastern England, although cloud increases in the west.
Showery rain passes east tonight through England, tending to be turning increasingly light and patchy. Showers following to the west.
