A cool November

A cool November with distinct periods of settled and unsettled weather

A chilly end to October as an easterly wind sets in. November becomes a month of distinct periods of milder and colder weather. The middle of the month is looking more unsettled with a strong jet stream developing bringing bands of rain from the west, before it turns colder later.

*24/10/16 - 30/10/16*
Higher pressure builds north of the UK this week with the easterly winds bringing cooler air to all.
Rain is most likely in the far south, with more northern areas staying dry. Eastern coasts are likely to have cloud and outbreaks of patchy rain. More persistent rain may affect the far south of England and this could be heavy at first.

*31/10/16 - 5/11/16*
High pressure may build back into the country during this period. The flow may become more northwesterly for a time bringing sunshine and showers to the north, but drier in the south.
The flow could turn more easterly again later in the week bringing showers to the east, and remaining cold for all.

*6/11/16 - 12/11/16*
The week may start chilly and dry for most. However, a westerly flow is expected to develop as the week progresses, so becoming more unsettled.
A risk of snow showers in Scotland with rain bands passing east.
Turning drier in the south later.

*13/11/16 - 19/11/16*
A wet and windy start, especially over Scotland, but perhaps elsewhere too. Turning colder as the wind becomes more east to northeasterly. Perhaps more settled later with a risk of some fog and frost.
