Wet & cool start

A cool and unsettled start to the month, but a better second half

July is expected to be a month of two halves. The start of the month is likely to be unsettled with periods of rain, rather cool and with strong winds at times too. The second half of the month turns drier and warm for most.

*1/7/16 - 7/7/16*
An unsettled week with low pressure in control of conditions. Bands of rain will be passing east followed by showers.
There could be an odd drier day, but overall staying unsettled throughout. A risk of strong winds at times. Feeling cool too.

*8/7/16 - 14/7/16*
Staying unsettled to start the week with more rain or showers.
Signs of a slow improvement during the week.
Staying mixed, although it may start to become warmer, especially in the south by the end of the period.

*15/7/16 - 21/7/16*
A ridge of high pressure is expected to be building into the south of the country during this week. This will be bringing some drier and warmer weather with more sunshine. The drier weather spreads gradually north although we do still expect some rain in Scotland and northwest Ireland.

*22/7/16 - 31/7/16*
The more settled conditions may well persist into this period.
Generally dry with sunny spells and feeling warm too.
The flow may turn more into the northwest bringing a few showers to the north, with a risk of thunderstorms later in the southeast.
