High pressure dominantes with dry weather for many

May looks set to be a month dominated by higher than average pressure. This should be bringing a fair start to the month, although things looking more unsettled during the mid month period.
The final stages of the month may turn drier again and possibly warmer too.

*1/5/17 - 7/5/17*
Dry and fair for most. A brisk easterly wind affecting many eastern and southern areas.
The best sunshine is likely to be in more western parts with the east tending to see more cloud.

8/5/17 - 14/5/17*
Fair again through much of this week. Again the best of the sunshine is going to be in more western areas with some cloud in eastern parts.
By the end of the week there is the risk of some rain in the south, and it could be that some showery rain develops more widely later on.

*15/5/17 -21/5/17*
Probably more mixed for many during this period. Most of the rain is likely in more southern areas of the country with the north tending to see showers.
The showers tending to fade away later in the week.

*22/5/17 - 31/5/17*
The end of May is currently expected to be dry and fair for many. The best of the weather is likely in more southern areas with parts of Scotland see some rain. This is most likely in the west and north.
