Heavy rain and severe gales expected across Europe.

Thursday
Very heavy and persistent spells of rain expected across Portugal, west and central regions of Spain where locally flooding could become an issue. Eastern regions staying largely dry. Blustery winds also. Again expect showers across northern into central areas of Italy and down through Croatia. The Aegean though today is drier in comparison with sunny spells.
Another unsettled day in France with rain expected across many regions. Windiest towards the northwest. Becoming wetter across the Low Countries as well as Switzerland. Some bursts of rain to be expected through Germany and blustery towards coasts here. Showery rain affecting more of Poland today while being breezy. Hungary is largely dry with some sunny spells.
Sunny spells across much of Scandinavia after a cloudy start thanks to strong high pressure here. Central Sweden and Norway seeing a cold and crisp sunny afternoon. Thicker cloud persists across the Baltics with some showers affecting mainly coastal areas here and feeling cold.

Friday
Less wet for Spain and Portugal today with strong and blustery winds easing back. Still blustery showers on to northern and western coasts though. Rain affecting the Balearics before clearing eastwards later in the day moving into Sardinia and Corscia by late afternoon. Heavy bursts of rain affecting northern Italy with heavy showers through central areas, also locally blustery winds. Drier further south. Largely dry and fair across Greece and Turkey.
It continues unsettled across France with outbreaks of heavy rain, some persistent spells in the far north as well as high. blustery winds. The Low Countries also very wet with possible persistent spells of rain here and gale force winds. Wet across northern and western areas of Germany though some dry regions further east. Unsettled with rain affecting much of Switzerland and western regions of Austria, driuer further east here. A wet and windy day for Poland.
Gale to severe gale force winds across Denmark though mainly dry. Gales also across the Baltics with some rain in more southern states. Strong high pressure over Sweden keeps conditions dry and fine across much of Sweden, Norway and Finland though in the south here it is windy.
