Torrential thunderstorms in central Europe, a few showers in the north, drier and brighter Mediterranean
Thursday Some showers affecting northern coasts of Spain today. Elsewhere it should be bright and dry with good spells of sunshine. Fine through the Balearics, Corsica and Sardinia. Some showers forming in northern and eastern Italy, fair to the west. More sunshine for Greece and Turkey, just some scattered afternoon showers triggered by the heat inland. A cooler day in France, heavy showers for much of the country, thundery for some especially in the east. Showery too for the Low Countries and Germany together with Poland. Hungary will be drier with sunny spells, but heavy showers affecting Austria ad Switzerland. Sunny spells and showers in Denmark. Scattered showers for the Baltic States and Finland but sunny spells here too. A few showers in southern Sweden, dry for other areas with plenty of sunshine. Showers too in the south of Norway but other areas dry and sunny.
Friday A fair day for Spain again with plenty of sunshine and only an isolated shower inland. Fine across most of the Central Mediterranean and Italy, but some showers affecting northern Italy. Greece and Turkey will be fine with lots of sunshine here, just an occasional shower in the east of Turkey. Sunny spells for western parts of France and mostly dry. Some showers in the east, these could be heavy and thundery. A showery day across the low countries and Germany with some very heavy thunderstorms affecting western and southern Germany. Poland will have some heavy showers in the west. Hungary will be dry in the east, but showers in the west, and both Austria and Switzerland are in for wet days with torrential thunderstorms. Thunderstorms in Denmark. Scattered showers for the Baltic States. Further showers in Finland. Heavy and thundery showers in the south of Sweden but fewer showers to the north. Some showers in northern and western Norway, dry to the south with sunny spells.
