Thundery showers in central and southern Europe, cooler but bright to the north


Saturday
Slack low pressure across central and southern Europe will result in areas of heavy and thundery showers breaking out again through the day, these affecting central and northern Spain, central and western France, plus the western Alps. Drier for Portugal, the southeast of Spain, plus far north and south of France. Italy also escaping generally dry with just isolated showers. Sunshine for much of the Balkans and Greece. Thundery rain for Cyprus. Areas of rain or showers for eastern Europe, affecting Ukraine, northern Romania and locally in eastern Poland and Hungary. Dry with warm sunshine for much of Germany, western Poland, the Czech Republic, Low Countries and southern Scandinavia. A chilly northerly wind for northern Norway and Finland, with snow showers coming in from the Arctic. Dry for Sweden and the Baltic.


Sunday
Heavy showers and thunderstorms in northern and eastern Spain. A few showers in Portugal, but sunshine here too. Some scattered showers for Corsica and Sardinia as well as Sicily. The rest of Italy should be dry with more sunshine. Greece is going to be warm and dry with plenty of sunshine. Turkey stays sunny and it will be warm too.
Thunderstorms or longer spells of rain in the southern half of France. fair in the north with more sunshine here. The Low Countries will be dry with sunshine. Germany should be dry, again with more sunshine to come. Isolated showers in eastern Poland, fair in central and western areas.
Denmark should be dry with plenty of sunshine. Scattered showers in western parts of the Baltic States. More sunshine for Finland and Sweden. Norway wil be cool with sunny spells, scattered showers on coasts.
