Warm east, cooling off west
Monday Dry with plenty of sunshine across Spain and Portugal. Pleasant in the Balearics and Sardinia. One or two isolated showers in Corsica. Persistent heavy showers across much of Italy, some thundery bursts mixed in especially in the south. Heavy rain for the Balkan states, risk of thunderstorms. Some showers spreading to western Greece in the late afternoon, but staying dry and sunny further east around the Aegean Sea. Pleasant with plenty of sunshine in Turkey, with some patchy showers in the east. Unsettled in France, with wet weather for most, clearing from the west with sunny spells, feeling breezy. Wet too across the Low Countries, Germany and Poland, with rain turning heavy at times. Rain and showers for much of central Europe, some heavy and thundery bursts mixed in. A centre of low pressure over southern Scandinavia brings unsettled weather, with heavy rain across Denmark, southern Norway and western parts of Sweden. Warm and dry for Finland and northern Sweden with southerly breezes over the Baltic.
Tuesday Fine with plenty of sunshine across most of Spain and Portugal, a few showers along the northern coast. The western Mediterranean also fine, but quite breezy for southern France. Showery in southern Italy, drier toward the north. Heavy rain and thunderstorms for mainland Greece. Drier over the Greek islands and Turkey. Bright and breezy for much of France and the Low Countries, a few showers near the coast, then a spell of more persistent rain later in the day coming in from the northwest. Showery rain for a time in southern Germany and the Alps, sunny spells for northern Germany, then rain later. Showers move across Poland, behind a band of heavier rain passing eastwards over eastern Europe. Brisk winds for Denmark with rain moving in from the west. Low pressure brings rain to Norway and Sweden, moving northwards, but further heavy rain moves in from the southwest later. A front advances east over the Baltic with strong southerly winds here.
