Hot late summer sun for many countries
Showery rain affects the far north of Spain plus northern parts of Portugal. Dry and fine elsewhere across Spain. One or two showers could push through the Balearic Islands but largely dry here. Scattered showers across Sardinia as well as Corsica and Sicily, these turning heavy and thundery across central and western regions of Italy. Thunderstorms across parts of eastern Greece and western Turkey.
A hot humid day for France, but heavy and thundery rain develops over western areas, drifting into central France by evening, although far eastern regions should remain largely dry. Dry across the Low Countries, though cloud will build here. Germany also staying dry as well as northern Italy and the rest of eastern Europe. Possible showers developing in west Switzerland.
Heavier rain moving into parts of west Norway but largely dry and much warmer further south and southeast. Mostly dry across Sweden, although northwestern regions seeing blustery showers. Breezy for Finland but mainly dry. Dry, fair and reasonably warm across Denmark and the Baltic States.
Slack low pressure lies to the west of Europe, whilst high pressure is to the east, feeding in very warm air from the south across the heart of the continent. Showery for northern Spain, but most of Spain and Portugal will be dry and warm. Areas of thundery rain continue to affect France, especially central and southern regions. Thundery rain also affects the Mediterranean islands and southern Italy, alto southernmost Greece.
Northern Italy, the eastern Alps and much of eastern Europe sees a dry and warm day with plenty of sunshine across countries from Poland to Romania. Hot and sunny in northern Germany too. Showers for Switzerland southwest Germany and Belgium, some thunderstorms brewing later, drifting north into the Netherlands.
The Baltic stays generally dry and warm, whilst western Norway will see some rain. Showery and cool toward the far north of Scandinavia.
