Unsettled much of central and southern Europe, fair to the north


Tuesday
Remaining unsettled through the Mediterranean on Tuesday as a new area of low pressure develops Iberia and the existing area pushes east over Italy, the Balkans, Greece and Turkey. Rain and heavy showers for parts of Portugal and Spain which will fall as snow on higher ground. The Balearics, Sardinia, Corsica, Sicily, Italy and the Balkans will also see some heavy showers develop. Greece and Turkey will have a largely fine day but heavy showers could develop by the evening - particularly for western coastal regions.
A cloudy day for much of France, the Low Countries and Germany with a chance of wintry showers in northern and central France and central Germany. A cloudy but dry day for Denmark while the Baltics will see cloud increasing from the northeast throughout the day. A cloudy but dry day for southern Finland and Sweden while it will remain dry and bright in Norway.


Wednesday
Rain in southern and southeastern Spain. Rain too for Portugal and northwest Spain. Patchy rain in the Balearics as well as across Sardinia and Corsica. A few showers in Italy, some of them heavy. Greece will have showers in northern area with more persistent rain in Turkey, heavy in the north.
Rain over southern France with central and northern areas being dry with sunny spells. Cool for the Low Countries and Germany with good spells of sunshine here. More sunshine for Poland. Fair in Austria and Hungary as well as Switzerland.
Fair and breezy in Denmark and Norway. Dry too with sunshine in the south of Sweden. The Baltic States will be cold and dry with sunny spells. Breezy for Finland with dry weather and sunny spells here too.
