Rain and snow Spain

Easterly gales for the western Med.


Sunday
Low pressure over the western Med brings heavy rain and snow to eastern Spain, with strong to gale force easterly winds affecting much of Spain and southern France. Windy too for Portugal, but more likely escaping dry here. Heavy rain and thunderstorms for the Balearics.
A scattering of showers for northern France and the Low Countries, also southern Germany and the Alps, but also plenty of dry weather around too. Local showers for Italy and the Balkans. Slack pressure across the east of the continent brings quiet weather with some low cloud and fog.
A ridge of high pressure extends into Scandinavie, with dry weather for the south of Norway and much of Sweden. Fronts bring some rain and snow to northern Norway, whilst a small low produces showers for Finland on a chilly northwesterly wind.


Monday
Strong easterly winds continue to affect the western Mediterranean and Iberia. Heavy rain and snow again for eastern Spain. Dry for Portugal. Wet for the Balearics, Corsica and Sardinia. Some rain may also affect southern France. A few showers for southern Italy, but generally dry further north.
A large area of high pressure extends across central-northern Europe bringing widespread dry weather to much of France, the Low Countries, Germany and many eastern countries. Frost and some fog patches, but plenty of sunshine. Isolated showers for Greece.
A westerly breeze maintains mild weather for Scandinavia. Wet and dull in west and northwest Norway. Patchy rain in Sweden, but mostly dry around the Baltic.
