Thundery Spain and central Europe, hot rest of Mediterranean
Tuesday Southern Spain and Portugal remain fine with hot sunshine. Thunderstorms for northern Spain. Areas of thunderstorms breaking out across France and into Germany and the Low Countries during the day, some intense downpours as high temperatures break down here. Much of the Mediterrain will be fine, with sunshine for Italy and Greece. Very high temperatures across eastern Europe, well into the 30s for many countries. High pressure brings lots of sunshine through Poland, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary. Rain moves into western Norway. A risk of thunderstorms reaching Denmark by evening. Much of Sweden, Finland and the Baltic states will be fine and very warm as southerly air is wafted extensively northward over Scandinavia.
Wednesday Torrential thunderstorms breaking our over eastern Spain on Wednesday. Fine for the rest of Spain and Portugal and hot. Heavy thunderstorms developing over the Balearics. Fine for Corsica and Sardinia as well as Italy with plenty of sunshine and hot weather too. Staying hot in Greece and Turkey with sunshine here. Storms in southern and eastern France, the risk of more prolonged spells of rain. Better for northern and western France although even here there is a risk of some storms. Mostly fair in the Low Countries but heavy, thundery rain developing in much of Germany, Poland should be fair with plenty of sunshine. Fair for Hungary although heavy thunderstorms in Switzerland and Austria. For Denmark there will be some heavy, thundery rain and this extends to southwest Norway. The Baltic States should be fair with sunny spells and it stays fair in Finland too. Sweden will be mostly fair with sunny spells, with some sunny spells too in northern Norway.
