Fair in central Europe, but wind and rain to the north
Wednesday Widespread dry and warm weather across central and southern Europe. Temperatures again topping 30C in Portugal and south-western Spain. Plenty of sunshine across the Mediterranean, plus France, the Alps and Italy. Risk of further thunderstorms around Sicily. Fair and warm for south-eastern Europe, 21 to 24C. Breezy for Germany and the Low Countries, but dry. Low pressure brings unsettled weather to Scandinavia. Risk of gales in southern Norway and Denmark. Rain spreads across Sweden in the early hours, advancing north & east into the daytime, reaching Finland and the Baltic States, accompanied by a strong southerly wind. Patchy rain too for northern & eastern Poland, spreading to Belarus and western Ukraine.
Thursday Fine for Spain and Portugal today with plenty of sunshine and dry weather. A few showers in the balearics. Dry for Italy with morning mist and fog patches, then fine. Greece and Turkey will be dry with lots of sunshine to come here. Some cloud and outbreaks of rain may reach the far northwest of France later in the day. although most of the country will be dry and sunny. Broken cloud and mostly dry in the Low Countries. Similar weather acros Germany and Poland. Austria, Hungary and Switzerland should be dry with good spells of sunshine here. Rain and stronger winds for Denmark. Rain across much of southern and eastern Sweden and windy here too. Further strong winds and rain in the Baltic States and Finland. An unsettled day over Norway with showers and longer spells fo rain, some of that heavy.
