Widespread thunderstorms over Europe through the coming days
A dry and fine day for much of Portugal, Spain, the Balearic Islands, Corsica and Sardinia though showes develop over northern coastal regions of Spain later. Heavy, thundery downpours affect northern and central parts of Italy while southern areas and Sicily stay dry and sunny. Dry and sunny too for Greece while isolated thunderstorms develop over Turkey later.
A dry and fine start for much of France though widespread showers develop later. Some of these thundery and heaviest to the northwest. Thunderstorms also widely affect Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. Drier and bright for much of Poland.
High pressure stays located over Scandinavia, maintaining dry weather across Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. A brisk east wind for the Baltic states, with some heavy rain coming in from the east later.
Continuing dry, fine and warm for Portugal, Spain, the Balearic Islands, Corsica and Sardinia though, once again, showers develop over northern parts of Spain later. Widespread thundery showers develop along the spine of Italy though Sicily should also stay dry and fine. Dry, warm and bright for Greece and much of Turkey though thunderstorms could develop along the Black Sea coast later.
Much of Europe starts dry and fine on Monday though widespread showers develop through the afternoon for France, the Low Countries, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Hungary. Some of these will be thundery. A drier, brighter day again for Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Higher pressure to the north maintains dry and mostly fine conditions for Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. A weak trough over the Baltic States brings heavy showers to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania some of which will be locally heavy and thundery.
