Heavy showers in the central Mediterranean, drier northern Europe
Tuesday Staying fine and warm for Spain and Portugal, very warm in the southwest. Small risk of a shower for the Balearics. Low pressure over the central Mediterranean brings heavy rain and thundery downpours to Italy and the Adriatic coasts, possibly western Greece. Local showers for the Greek Islands, but mostly dry for Turkey. Breezy easterly winds for north and central Europe, but largely dry for France, the Low Countries and northern Germany. Areas of rain for southern Germany and the Alps, a little patchy rain reaching eastern France. Some patchy rain or showers extends through Czechia, Slovakia and northern Romania. Fine for Poland. High pressure over Scandinavia brings fine weather for Denmark, southern Norway and Sweden. Showery rain in northern Norway with fresher westerly breezes here. An odd shower for Finland.
Wednesday Heavy thunderstorms afecting eastern Spain today. A few showers in central Spain too. Portugal should be mostly dry and sunny. Showers too in Corsica and Sardinia as well as central Italy. Greece will be dry in the west but some showers in the east. Turkey sees further scattered showers although should be mostly dry. Fine for France, good spells of sunshine here, breezy in the north. Dry across most of Germany, some showers in southern Poland. Scattered showers for Austria and Hungary but dry and sunny in Switzerland. Sunny and dry for Denmark. The Baltic States will also be sunny and dry with this sunshine extending to Finland. Norway and Sweden are dry and sunny in the south. Rain in more northern areas of Norway.
