Thundery downpours in the eastern Mediterranean

Monday
High pressure influences western Europe with fair weather for Spain, Portugal and France. A few showers for the central Mediterranean, although fewer downpours than recently in Italy and mainly dry in northern areas, also the Alps. Thundery rain affects the Balkans and some showers for Greece.
Feeling cool with showers for the Netherlands, Denmark and Germany with a keen northwesterly breeze. Drier for Poland and the Czech Republic and much of eastern Europe. Low pressure over Scandinavia brings unsettled conditions. Frequent showers for Norway, merging into longer spells of rain toward the far north. A few showers for Sweden and the Baltic.

Tuesday
Dry and fine for Spain and Portugal as well as through the Balearic Islands. Some showery rain affecting Corsica and Sardinia as well as northern parts of Sicily. The odd shower across Italy but mainly dry here. Thundery downpours clearing much of Greece through the day and moving into Turkey.
High pressure continues to be dominant across much of France, although outbreaks of rain are expected to push across north and east regions here as well as down the Low Countries and Germany, where it will feel cool. Showers across the Alpine countries too. A few showers cannot be ruled out across Italy but mainly dry here. Scattered showers across Poland. Mainly dry through the Balkan States.
Largely dry through Sweden and Norway but with showers affecting western parts of Norway. Some patchy rain across Finland but plenty of dry periods too. Showery rain affecting the Baltics. Some showers affecting Denmark initially but the day does look to improve here.
