Settled weekend
Back to British next week

Issued: 0900hrs Wednesday 10th June 2026
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

A better weekend and warm too, though back to unsettled next week

High pressure builds in for a brief time through the weekend allowing for temperatures to rise for a few days at least. Next week sees lower pressure move back in and give wetter weather again, particularly to the north and west, staying drier in the south for a tad longer.

Saturday 13/6/26
High pressure sits over southern Ireland and southwest England on Saturday while lower pressure circulates over Shetland. This will bring showery conditions, perhaps longer spells of rain, to Scotland, northern parts of England as well as Wales and Northern Ireland, while elsewhere will benefit from the ridge giving drier, sunnier and warmer conditions. Highs at a 17C in Scotland, 27C in southern England.

Sunday 14/6/26
High pressure is over the British Isles on Sunday. This brings a warm and fair day with lots of sunshine, although there may be some low cloud affecting western coasts. More in the way of cloud across Ireland with the risk of some patchy drizzle on to north and western coasts. A humid day with highs at 20 to 26C for many.

Monday 15/6/26
High pressure remains over much of the country on Monday with very warm sunshine, although a risk of drizzle affecting northern and western coasts. Another humid feeling day with highs at 19 to 27C, though cooler further north and west.

Tuesday 16/6/26
Low pressure in the Atlantic edges closer towards the UK and Ireland on Tuesday. This will bring rain to Ireland, Northern Ireland as well as patchy rain for Scotland into Wales. Staying largely dry for England and Wales with the best sunshine in central and eastern areas. Highs at 19C in Ireland, 27C in southeast England.

Wednesday 17/6/26
Low pressure stays west of Scotland on Wednesday. A southwesterly wind will continue to bring wet and breezy conditions to northern and western regions. Remaining largely dry further east and southeast where it will feel warm still. Highs at 16C to 25C.

Thursday 18/6/26
Thursday sees a continuation of relative unsettled weather. There is the risk of a front moving down the country bringing spells of rain to northern areas initially then moving into southern parts later. A fresher feeling day for many. Highs at 14 to 23C.
