Eastern thunderstorms but fair and sunny in the west
During Thursday and low pressure situated to the north of Scotland brings a cool and very windy weather to the UK with showers, something not experienced for some considerable time and this area of low pressure will also push wet and windy weather into Norway through the day.
A region of drier and sunnier weather is forecast to extend north-eastwards from Spain into parts of France and through towards Germany, but more northern areas of France will turn cloudier and cooler later in the day. The remainder of Europe is set to maintain rather low pressure but also with very warm and humid conditions. As a result further heavy and thundery downpours are forecast across Italy in particular, along with surrounding countries and some perhaps hot weather forecast across Greece and Turkey but with some heavy and severe thundery downpours possible here during the afternoon too.
A fine day in Spain and Portugal with plenty of warm sunshine. Staying fine in the Balearics too. A few showers in Corsica and Sardinia. Italy has a risk of some thunderstorms in the south, but the north should be dry with sunshine. Further showers in western Greece but dry in the east. Turkey may have a few showers to the south too.
Scattered afternoon showers forming in central France, but dry north and south. Fine weather in the Low Countries and most of Germany. Poland should be fair too with a good amount of sunshine. Drier in Austria and Hungary as well as Switzerland.
Denmark should have a dry day with sunny spells. Scattered showers later inland in the baltic States although dry overall. Finland will be breezy and dry. Some rain in northern Sweden where it will be windier, some rain and wind in western Norway too.
