Sunshine northern Scotland

Good morning,

A quiet but dull weather story today with a slack pressure pattern over the country. Grey skies and light southerly breezes.

Chilly air from the continent wafts over much of England & Wales. The low cloud thick enough for some patchy drizzle or snow grains in places. Western areas may brighten up a little during the day.

A slow-moving cold front is draped north-south from the Hebrides to western Ireland, bringing some rain to these areas. Fresher southerly breezes affect western Britain and Ireland.

Sunshine best in northern Scotland toward the north of the mountains. Some sunny breaks may also emerge over north Wales and toward the east of the Pennines.

Today's top temperatures struggling at 2 to 4C for many places, up to 7C toward the southwest and western coasts. Milder over Ireland at 8 to 11C, warmest southwest.

Have a great day.
Garry
