A band of rain spreading from west to east. Strengthened winds yet from the south allowing for mild temperatures.

In the morning, it will be cloudy and wet with persistent and heavy spells of rain for northern and western areas. The rain will shift eastwards with the heaviest rain falling across central and eastern Scotland, northwest England, Wales and southwest England by midday. Meanwhile central eastern areas of England, East Anglia, the southeast and parts of central England will remain largely dry.

This afternoon, southern and eastern areas will be affected by the rain. Further north and west will see sunny spells develop but also blustery showers, these showers most frequent in the west. There will be a mild but brisk southerly wind.

Rain will continue to affect southern and southeastern areas through the evening and into the night before clearing through the early hours. Elsewhere, expect some clear spells but also blustery showers to continue, these heaviest and most frequent still in the west. A breezy night for all with winds strengthening more across western parts of Ireland later.
