Rain moving into the north and west
Dry with some sun for the east and south

Friday
A ridge of high pressure just about holds on in the south but low pressure to the southwest of Iceland, moving east, will drive weather fronts across northern and western areas. Rain will spread northeast across Ireland early in the day and then on into Scotland with some outbreaks of rain or drizzle, accompanied by low cloud developing over coasts and hills in Northwest England and West Wales. Much of Wales, England and Eastern Scotland staying dry with some sunshine, the best of this in the east. Breezy in the north and west with strong winds around western coasts. Daytime highs 14 to 17C in northern and western areas, up to around 22C in the south and east.


Friday Night
Still some rain or drizzle in northern and western areas, possibly a few bursts around West Wales and Southwest England. Staying dry with clear spells further east and south. Still breezy in the northwest. Overnight lows 10 to 13C in the north, 14 to 17C in the south.
 


Saturday
A ridge of high presssure over Southern Britain with low pressure to the east of Iceland moving northeast. An Atlantic low will track east and cross Northern Ireland overnight. Dry for much of England and Wales with some sunshine but western coasts and hills will be cloudier with some drizzly outbreaks. Scotland and Ireland cloudier generally with outbreaks of rain or drizzle, especially in the north and west. Rain spreads east across Ireland into Scotland, Northern England and North Wales overnight. Strong winds in the north with gales for the Northern Isles. Highest temperatures 14 to 17C in the north and west, up to 23 to 25C in the east and south.


Sunday
Low pressure over Northern Ireland will move away east, with another low tracking northeast to approach the Western Isles of Scotland later. High pressure persists over Southern Britain. Rain, some heavy, in northern and western areas, clearing gradually from the west. The far north of Scotland and the south and east of England will be mostly dry with some sunshine, however. Strong winds in the west at first, easing. Highs 15 to 18C in the north and west but reaching 21-25C in the south and east.
