By the afternoon, Ireland and Scotland will see heavy rain spreading east, accompanied by strengthening winds and possible gales over high ground. Highs will range from 8°C in the north to 14°C in the south.

Rain will clear eastward, lingering over Scotland with some snow in the Highlands. Showers will continue along coastal areas, with strong winds in the far east. Lows will drop to 3°C in the north and 8°C in the south.

Rain and strong winds will spread eastward across Ireland, Wales, and southern/central England, possibly turning to sleet or snow over higher ground. The north will enjoy a brighter day with occasional showers, wintry at times over higher ground. It will feel cool, with highs of 4°C in the north and 6°C in the south. Frost is expected overnight in the north.
 


Saturday
A windy day with occasional heavy showers, especially along coasts. These may turn wintry, even at lower levels in the north. Southeast England will see the best dry and bright conditions. Feeling cold in the wind, with highs of 4°C in the north and 6°C in the south. Frost is likely inland overnight.
