Potential for some heavy, thundery rain over the weekend. Mixed next week and cooler.
The dry, sunny and hot conditions retire this weekend as low pressure moves in across England and Wales. Expect heavy and perhaps thundery rain here. Staying mixed to unsettled through next week with rain at times, mainly across northern and western areas, drier further south and east.

Low pressure affecting England and Wales on Sunday, bringing spells of rain, some of it thundery and heavy, as well as low cloud and mist in central and eastern areas. Staying dry across Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland and becoming brighter too further west with sunshine developing. Highs at 17 to 25C.
Low pressure over the east of the UK on Monday. This is going to be bringing another unsettled day with a mix of bright or sunny spells and heavy, thundery showers. The showers could be torrential in places, especially central and eastern England. A risk of flooding is possible. Some rain for eastern Scotland. Drier Ireland and western Scotland, a few sunny spells here. Highs at 19 to 25C.
Low pressure is expected close to eastern Scotland on Tuesday. The northwest wind brings sunny spells and a few showers, most around northern and western coasts and hills. Drier east and south. A cooler day with highs here at 16 to 21C.
Wednesday is set to be a more mixed day. Some rain and showers affecting northern and western areas with low pressure close by. It may be that the showers are fewer to the south and east, some brighter spells here too. Tops at 23C in southeastern areas, 17C in northern Scotland.
Rain affecting northern and western areas on Thursday as low pressure circulates just the the north of Scotland. Rain could be heavy at times in the west. Drier and brighter with some sunny spells across southern and eastern regions. Highs at 23C in the southeast of England, but between 15 and 20C elsewhere.
Low pressure continues to dominate the weather scene on Friday with northern and western areas still affected worse by the rain and showers, somewhat drier further south and east with the prospect of some sunnier spells here. Highs at 16 to 20C.
