Local coastal showers
High pressure prevails across the British Isles during the week ahead maintaining settled weather. More sunshine than recently, although there will be lingering fog patches. Some showers focused toward eastern coasts. Temperatures near average, but toward next weekend turning chillier with some snow showers on northern hills.

Tuesday 12/11/24 Mostly dry conditions except for eastern coast of England, where patchy light to moderate rain. Some fog over Ireland, as well as parts of western England and Scotland, slow to clear. Eastern England under the deck of low clouds and windy, elsewhere fair amounts of sunshine and light norhteasterly winds. Maximum temperatures 8 to 10C, locally 12C Cornwall, Ireland and eastern Scotland.
Wednesday 13/11/24 High pressure in charge. Another widely dry day with some sunshine for western areas of England and Wales. Cloudy in central and eastern counties, risk of some showers near to east and southeastern coasts of England. Cloudy in Ireland and western Scotland. Brighter eastern Scotland. Again patchy fog in the morning. Tops of near 10C in north and east and 13C in southwest.
Thursday 14/11/24 High pressure centred toward the west and northwest. Cool northeasterly breezes may bring local showers to eastern coastal areas, but most places stay dry. A weakening front slipping southwards brings cloudy skies mixed with sunny spells. Some fog for Ireland and Scotland. Highs 7 to 11C.
Friday 15/11/24 Pressure stays high with sunny spells for many places. Some areas of fog. A cool northeasterly breeze in the south, local showers eastern England coasts. Northwesterly winds for northern areas may bring some showers into northwest Scotland. Highs 7 to 10C.
Saturday 16/11/24 Low pressure passing north of Britain brings much colder air from the north with some showery rain, turning to snow on northern Scottish mountains. Sunny spells for much of England and Wales. Windy in the north. Highs 8 to 13C north to south.
Sunday 17/11/24 Northerly winds bring a chilly feel for all areas. Good amounts of sunshine for many places. Showers draped around coasts in the east and west, locally more frequent showers in northern Scotland and Ireland with hill snow. Highs 5 to 9C.
