Fine and dry, lots of warm sunshine, then showers and a little cooler at the weekend
Fair weather in the days ahead. Plenty of sunshine and feeling warm although with strong winds in the south. A tendency towards showers in central and southern England this weekend, turning a little cooler too.

Thursday 19/9/24 Pressure stays high on Thursday. A brisk east to northeast winds in central and southern areas. Broken cloud in central and eastern parts with some sunny spells. Better sunshine in western and northern areas of England, Wales and Scotland. A few broken clouds in the far north of Scotland. Temperatures at 19 to 26C.
Friday 20/9/24 High pressure north of Scotland with low pressure south. Sunny spells and mainly dry for northern England, Scotland and Ireland, although a chance of a shower in central and southern England and Wales. Staying breezy. Highs at 19 to 24C.
Saturday 21/9/24 Further showers developing over central and southern England and Wales as well as parts of southern Ireland on Saturday. One or two of the showers heavy, but they will be scattered. Fair again for most with sunny spells, although the risk of some cloud in the east. Highs at 19 to 24C.
Sunday 22/9/24 A area of low pressure may develop over central and southern areas on Sunday bringing thundery rain here. Drier for northern England and Scotland as well as northern and western Ireland with sunny periods. Tops at a cooler 16 to 21C.
Monday 23/9/24 Lower pressure again over the far south of the country through Monday. Some cloud and patchy rain here, rather murky in the far south too. Brighter elsewhere with broken cloud and some bright spells, the best sunshine in the west. Tops at 15 to 21C.
Tuesday 24/9/24 Fair in much of England, Wales and eastern Scotland. Increasing cloud in the west but brighter in the east. Cloud and rain in Ireland and western Scotland. Tops at 16 to 22C.
