Morning Call - January 18, 2019
Damp, damp & cold
Drier east

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 18th January 2019

Murky, damp and cold in the west, drier in the east

Good morning,

After the sunshine for many of us yesterday, today is going to be a colder, damper and duller day overall. Fronts are moving in the west and these are bringing rain into Ireland this morning. The rain will be reaching west Wales and southwest England as well as southwest Scotland in the next few hours. Drier in the east.

Western areas will be increasingly murky during today and damp as well. Periods of rain and drizzle in the west, most in southwest England but rather patchy elsewhere. This turns to sleet and snow over the Scottish Hills, Welsh Mountains and Pennines by late afternoon and evening. Eastern areas tending to stay drier.

Tonight is cloudy and damp for most. It should be largely frost free except in parts of northern England and Scotland.
