A colder week ahead. There will be showers and these are going to be heavy and thundery at times. Windy at times, a risk of gales. Sunny spells between the showers.

Thursday 12/9/24 Less showers for Thursday as a ridge of high pressure slowly builds from the west. The northwest wind bringing sunny spells and another chilly day. Showers around northern and western coasts and hills. Mostly dry away from these areas with further spells of sunshine as the winds ease. Highs at 10 to 16C.
Friday 13/9/24 A ridge of high pressure building through Friday. Staying cold and fair with good spells of sunshine. Increasing cloud through Ireland and Scotland with rain here later in the day. Lighter winds overall, but turning breezy again in Ireland and Scotland. Tops at 10 to 16C.
Saturday 14/9/24 High pressure centred south of the British Isles. Low pressure to the north. Rain and gales in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Drier and brighter for England, Wales and southeast Ireland. Tops at 15 to 19C.
Sunday 15/9/24 Low pressure north of Scotland on Sunday. A cold front through northern England, Wales and the Midlands bringing cloud and some showery outbreaks of rain. Fair for southern England, sunny spells. Showers in northern and western Scotland, some of them heavy. Highs at 21C in East Anglia, 12 to 16C for many northern and western areas.
Monday 16/9/24 Lower pressure east of the country on Monday. This brings a chilly day as higher pressure builds west of Ireland. Showers, some heavy through central and eastern areas. Tops at 11 to 16C.
Tuesday 17/9/24 Some showers on Tuesday, sunny spells too. High pressure will be building too bringing drier and brighter conditions. Highs at 12 to 19C
