Wednesday A front bringing rain to eastern Ireland, Wales and western parts of England early this morning. Drier and cloudy in Scotland and eastern England and feeling cold here too. Brighter in central Ireland. The rain passes east through the rest of Scotland and England, most persistent in the Midlands and southern England. A further areas of rain arriving in Ireland. Highs at 5C in northern Scotland, 12C in southwest England.
Wednesday Night Plenty of cloud tonight. A first band of rain clears east as a further areas crosses Ireland and into the British Isles. This second rain band having some heavy bursts associated with it, mostly on hills. Becoming windy too. Lows around 3 to 9C.
Thursday A breezy and milder day. Drizzle and low cloud as well as outbreaks of rain in much of England and Wales with cloud shrouding hills, especially in the west. More persistent rai in western Scotland and western Ireland. Staying cloudy this afternoon with further spells of rain and drizzle across western and southern areas. Frequent showers merging to longer spells of rain in western Scotland and Ireland. Perhaps drier in eastern areas although even here some drizzle. Highs at 10 to 13C.
Friday Wet and windy on Friday with rain quickly becoming heavier in Ireland and western areas of the UK. Gales may be severe here. Drier east at first but then cloud, wind and rain for these areas too. Staying wet in western areas throughout the day. Eastern parts will have rain for a time but this should be easing and become drier although with some drizzle on and off through the late afternoon. Gales in the west. Highs at 11 to 15C.
