Very unsettled and becoming wet and windy, cool to cold for all
A very unsettled end to the week and weekend for many. Low pressure will be bringing periods of heavy and strong winds together with cool to cold temperatures. The rain should ease into next week, turning more showery, although it will be remaining cool. Less windy next week too.

Cloud, rain and wind across much of central and southern England and Wales on Friday. The rain could be heavy at times, especially in the far south where there is a risk of some localised flooding. Some cloud and spots of rain affecting northeastern coasts of England. Drier and brighter for northwest England with plenty of sunshine over much of Scotland, northern and western Ireland. Rain and wind in southeastern Ireland too. A chilly day where exposed to the wind and cloud, highs at 11 to 14C.
Low pressure dominates again through Saturday being centred over England. It will be a windy day with periods of rain, this potentially heavy in places. Some showers or outbreaks of rain in Ireland. Further heavy showers or longer spells of rain for Wales, whilst parts of southwest England should be drier. Temperatures at 11 to 14C.
Low pressure remains over the UK and Ireland pon Sunday. It is likely to be staying wet in Scotland and Ireland as well as Wales and southwest England. It may be drier in more central and eastern areas although with some heavy showers developing. Windy for many. Highs at 11 to 15C.
The area of low pressure continues to be the dominant feature of the weather on Monday. The day is likely to be bright with sunny spells and some showers. There could be some more persistent rain affecting eastern coasts. Highs at 12 to 15C.
Pressure stays low throughout the UK and Ireland on Tuesday. There will be some spells of rain and showers, although drier areas too. There is uncertainty at the present time over where most of any rain will be. Tops at 12 to 15C.
Little changes on Wednesday with lower pressure remaining close by. There will be a mix of sunshine and showers, a few heavy. Temperatures at 12 to 16C.
