A more settled week, mild for many, some rain in the northwest
A far less changeable week than we have experienced recently. Higher pressure is going to be building and this will allow for much drier weather across many parts of the UK and Ireland. There will stil be raion at times in Scotland, northern and western Ireland and northwest England. Mild for most, perhaps very mild on some days in southern and eastern England.

High pressure close to southern England on Thursday. A weak cold front brings some cloud and rain to northwest Scotland with some drizzle over western coasts of Ireland. For most areas the day will be dry. Always a fair amount of cloud in western areas but the east and south should be dry and bright with some reasonable spells of sunshine developing into the afternoon. Temperatures rising to 18C in the east, more widely 13 to 15C, but 9C in northern Scotland.
Higher pressure stays over the south of the country on Friday. Weak fronts bringing some cloud and light rain to Scotland, northwest England and Northern Ireland. Rather cloudy for other areas with the best of any sunshine in southern England. Tops near 8 to 10C in the north, 15C in any sunshine in southern England.
Higher pressure holds on across the southern half of the UK on Saturday bringing a dry day. The best sunshine to the south and east. Fronts may bring rain into Scotland and Ireland, perhaps to northwest England and north and west of Wales too. Temperatures at 16C in the south, 7 to 10C in northern areas.
High pressure builds over the country on Sunday. This should bring a fair day with broken cloud and some sunny spells. Cloud, rain and stronger winds affecting northern Scotland. Highs at 14C in the south and east, 9C in northern Scotland.
Pressure is likely to be staying high on Monday. This should bring a fair day with sunny spells for most. Temperatures at 9 to 14C.
High pressure remains on Tuesday. This should bring a fair day again with good spells of sunshine, the best of them to the west. Highs at 9 to 14C.
