Drizzle in northwest

Wednesday
Lots of cloud around again through Wednesday. It is likely to be a dry day for many although some drizzle may affect high ground at times, especially in northern England. Further drizzle for western Scotland and it will be windier here too. Only brief brighter spells will be developing, most in the east and south. More persistent rain reaching northwest Scotland later. Highs at 9C in northern Scotland, 7C in southern England.


Wednesday Night
Windy with cloud and some outbreaks of rain passing south through Scotland and Ireland. These outbreaks of rain reaching northern England and Wales later. Becoming windy too in northern England and Scotland. Heavier rain in northern Scotland, some showers and strong winds in southern Scotland. Dry for southern England with the winds picking up here. Lows at 0 to 4C.
 


Thursday
An area of cloud and some showery bursts of rain across Wales and southern England on Thursday morning as a front clears south. Brighter and colder weather follows from the north bringing lots of sunshine. Showers in northern and western Scotland, these being wintry on the hills. One or two wintry showers over the hills of northern England too. Highs at 5C in northern Scotland, 10C in much of England and Wales, but turning colder during the day.


Friday
High pressure is to the south of the British Isles on Friday. A warm front passes north of Scotland bringing some stronger winds here, cloud and outbreaks of drizzle and rain. Drier for southern and eastern Scotland as well as most of England, Wales and Ireland, although always a fair amount of cloud. There may be some drizzle over western coasts and hills. Generally dry, the best sunshine in the east. Highs at 6 to 10C.
