An area of rain will be developing through Wales, the Midlands, East Anglia and southeast England this evening. Rain may be heavy in the east. Snow is expected over the high ground of Wales as well as over higher ground in England. By the end of the night rain will be affecting eastern England. Drier in Scotland with a widespread and severe frost. Cloudy in northwest and southwest England as well as Ireland, a frost here too. Lows at -3 to 3C.
Low pressure dominates through Friday, centred over eastern parts of the UK. There will be areas of rain rotating around the low, mostly afecting eastern England and eastern Scotland. Here the rain will be falling as snow over high ground and rain could be heavy at times. Further rain in northern and western Wales as well as northern coasts of Cornwall and Devon. Perhaps drier in central and southern England, some bright spells here. Cold and dry in Ireland with good spells of sunshine, although some showers over western coasts. Tops at 3 to 6C.
The area of low pressure remains over the south of the UK through Saturday. This brings another cold day. Plenty of cloud and periods of rain across much of eastern and southern Scotland as well as parts of northeast England. A further areas of rain and showers affects Ireland and the far south and southwest of England. Snow affects the Grampians with snow showers affecting northern Scotland too. A cold day with highs at 6C along eastern coasts, nearer 3 to 5C in the west.
