Drier east and south

Scattered showers extending through northern England and into Wales and parts of the Midlands this morning. Drier in the east and south with sunny spells. Increasing winds in Ireland and western Scotland with rain spreading eastwards here. The rain moves into Scotland in the afternoon, most in the west. Wet and breezy in Ireland with rain arriving in northern England. Drier in southern England with sunny spells. Drizzle affecting western coasts of Wales. Highs at 22C in East Anglia and southeast England, 15C in Ireland and western Scotland.

Cloud and periods of rain over northern England, Wales and parts of the north and west Midlands tonight. Drier conditions with broken cloud arriving in much of Ireland and Scotland, although showers affect the western coasts. Clearer skies in southern and southeast England too. Lows at a chilly 5C in central Scotland, 12C in southern England.

A weakening front passing through central and southwest England as well as Wales. This brings a dull and damp morning, but the cloud should break with some bright spells coming through. Variable cloud and mostly dry in southern England with some sunny intervals. Showers in western Scotland and breezy here. Drizzle and cloud in the west of Ireland, but drier in the east. Drier across northern England and eastern Scotland. Highs at 23C in southern England, 15C in northern Scotland.

Higher pressure building across England and Wales. There may be some morning mist or fog patches, these clearing to leave bright or sunny spells, the best in the south. Some cloud and rain in western Scotland. Dry for Ireland with sunny spells developing, the best in the east. A warm day with tops at 28C in the southeast, 17C in northern Scotland.
