UK Forecast - February 21, 2019
Fair southerly breezes
Some murk & dampness west

Friday
A very mild southerly airflow prevails. Fronts to the west & northwest bring patchy rain or drizzle to the west of Ireland and west coast of Scotland. Local brief bursts of rain may track northwards across the Highlands during the day. Otherwise it will be dry, with low cloud or early fog patches breaking to give sunshine, although fairly hazy. Blustery winds in the west, lighter winds in the east. Temperatures reaching 13 to 15C for many, a little cooler near coasts.

Friday night
Dry overall through the night, with variable cloud and some clear spells, these best in the east and northeast. Western coasts and hills may hold onto more cloud. A brisk southerly breeze continues, strongest for Scotland, Ireland and western coasts. Some fog patches may form in low lying parts if central England and Wales. Staying mild, and frost free in general, lowest temperatures around 4 or 5C in rural mid-Wales and the Midlands, also Highland Scotland. Nearer 7 or 8C for most.

Saturday
High pressure to the east maintains a southerly pattern across the country. A weak front moves in from the west, bringing some low cloud and patchy rain for Ireland and later western Scotland. Banks of cloud and drizzle may also drift onto Irish Sea coasts and Cornwall. Early local fog, then dry with lots of sunshine for England and Wales, plus central-eastern Scotland. Breezy in the west and north. Lighter winds southeast. Very mild, 13 to 16C warmer in shelter.

Sunday
High pressure expands across the British Isles, with winds dropping light and variable for all. Remnants of a front may bring cloudy skies across northern areas at first, but this should break up through the day. Any early local drizzle will fade, leaving a dry day overall. A greater risk of widespread fog in the morning, and a chilly start for some. A good deal of sunshine coming through, but local patches of low cloud stubborn to break up. Temperatures topping out at 12 to 15C.
