Simon: More showers feeding into eastern areas tonight, some making it west. An odd heavier one in there too.

Simon: Damp this afternoon in central and eastern areas. Feeling cold for all.

Simon: A chilly day ahead in a brisk east wind. Plenty of cloud too, most in the east where there will be some drizzle or light rain.

Claire: Clear skies across much of the British Isles this evening and temperatures are starting to drop. Through this evening and the rest of the night we can expect cloud to build from the east giving a rather overcast start to the working week for most. Clear skies will remain in the far west.

Claire: Temperatures of 7 to 11C are widely being reported around the UK right now however it's feeling much cooler than that in the freshening easterly breeze. Feeling more like 5 to 8C.

Claire: It's a breezy but dry start to the day for most us. Some cloud around, mainly on eastern coasts and over higher ground, which may be slow to clear. It will feel colder than yesterday, particularly in the easterly winds.

Claire: Cloudy skies for eastern Scotland, NE England and much of Ireland just now and it looks set to remain that way this evening and overnight. A dry night is expected for all with a touch of ground frost developing in exposed areas. High temperatures of 5 to 7C.

Claire: An east-west split in the weather just now with cloudy skies dominating in the east and clearer skies out west. Dry for all but feeling cool in the easterly breeze.

Claire: Showers are largely clearing now though a band of heavier, more persistent rain is moving into western parts of Ireland now. This will continue to move westward through the evening bringing rain for Ireland, western Wales, northwestern England and western Scotland.

Simon: Increasing winds today, lifting cloud and mist and allowing for plenty of sunshine.

Simon: More ate autumn mist and murk to come in much of central and eastern England this afternoon, the cloud thick enough for drizzle too. Some sunnier skies west and north. The wind needs to pick up to clear the low cloud and mist elsewhere, that will happen on Saturday.

Simon: Lots of mist and fog this morning. This lifting around coasts. Low cloud persists for many inland. Thicker cloud in Scotland and Ireland.
