Very warm east and south with rain in the west, then cooler next week
Very warm weather across much of England and eastern Wales in the coming days as heat wafts into the UK from Europe. Rain affecting Ireland and western parts of Scotland, some of this heavy at times. Indications are that the weather turns more unsettled and cooler again next week wth wind and rain blowing in from the Atlantic.

Pressure builds across the near continent on Saturday. A ridge of high pressure extends into the UK bringing bright and dry as well as warm weather into England and Wales. More persistent rain over western Ireland and western Scotland. Drier in eastern Scotland. Highs at 22C in the sunshine to the south, 12C in western Scotland.
Fronts bringing rain and stronger winds into western Ireland and northwest Scotland on Sunday. It is likely that eastern Scotland, most of England and Wales should be dry with some sunny spells here although there could be some lower cloud and drizzle on western coasts and hills. Brisk winds in western areas too. Highs at a very warm 22C in the south and east, 15C in western Scotland.
Fronts are likely to bring cloud and some outbreaks of rain in Ireland and Wales as well as southwest England and southwest Scotland on Monday. Tending to be drier in eastern England and Scotland, and staying very warm here too. Highs at 15 to 24C.

Low pressure is expected to be in control of conditions on Wednesday, probably centred west of Ireland. There could be rain passing east with showers following. A cooler day at 11 to 17C.
